Chapter 3: Like A Drug

Pauline was waiting for Jesse to pick up his phone but he didn't. She shut it down next to her. She sut on the bed. There is only one thing that is her mind right now. How will say that to Jesse. She knew that he'll feel bad but he'll not tell her. He didn't want her not to believe to her dreams. It's so hard for her to say that to him but she had no choise. She took the phone to her hands again and pushed the call bottom.

"Hey, Paul where have you been? I was strat getting worry!" Jesse said worried. Pauline from the other live could understand how worried he was. "I was in the trainning and then back home. I had a shower and a dinner. Did you were in a bed when i called you 2 minutes ago?" "I was reading Romeo a fairytail to sleep!" he answered. Pauline was really suprised from his answer. She loved his brother side. "Did you get me text?" he asked. "Yeah, speaking of which what do you think if we can go for some lunch when i finished school?" "Yeah, that will be nice! I'll come to pick you up!" he suggested. "Great! I'll see ya tommorow! Sweet dreams..." "Sweet dreams to you too Paul! I love you!" "I love you too!" Pauline said and hung up the phone.

She singed on releif. The first part was done. Now, the second part will be more dificult. She needed to be ready for tommorow. After wearing her pijamas and brushed her teeth she lying to her bed and fall asleep.

The next day in school was the same with the first. They attend all the classes that Pauline hate and Ava loved. Pauline was trying to keep her mind in the class but it was so easy to cross the street and go wherever it wants. Her mind all the day wasn't with her. At least she had the time to think how she'll tell Jesse that. She didn't want to be cruel but a little sweet.

The bell rung and it was the time for Pauline to face that fear. Pauline was walking along with Ava in the hallway "Are you ok? You didn't talk to much today i'm worried!" Ava said opening the door of the hallway. "I'm fine! Just a little tiried. Oh and today i can't drice you back home Jesse and i are going to have some lunch!" "Is not a problem! I'm going for lunch with my dad and Tori today too! He said that he wants to tell me something!" Ava admit to her friend. "Oh that's great! i think you liked Tori!" "I like her a lot! I first i didn't want to talk to her but since she moved in...." Ava started. Pauline's eyes rolled. "What do you mean she moved in?" "She lived with us now! The last two and a half months!" Pauline was shaking her head. "It seems that someone is happy....." Pauline said meaning Richie. "I hope he'll not do something crazy!" "Like marring her?" Pauline knew what Ava was going to say. "Yes, is not that i don;t want to see me dad marring again is that i'm not ready for it yet!" Ava admit when the walking at the edge of the roads.

Ava looking around and took some steps right and left "Fuck! Why he can't be here on time?" Ava almost yelled. "Hey, Ava calm down! Jesse's not here yet i'll stay with you!" Pauline answered calmy she was really suprised by Ava's reaction. A few minutes later Richie came and took Ava with him.

Pauline now was alone waiting for Jesse. She sut down waiting for him. Her hands were at her head. She really didn't want him come because she'll say that. She singed and looked up. She heard a car was coming. The sound was familiar. She turned and saw Jesse. he was looking sexy as hell with sunglasses. Pauline got up. Jesse stoped the car next to her. "Get in babe! I'm starving here!" Jesse said while Pauline jumped in the car. She put her bag to the back seat and kissed him. Breaking for the kiss he asked "Where to Paul?" "I don't care! I'm fine when i'm with you!" she answered and smiled. Jesse didn't answered just smiled and drove away.

The route to the pizzeria passed into silence. They both were deep in there thoughts. Jesse parked the cra in the parking lot and together walked in. They sut in a table next to window, they both loved sitting next to the window. They ordered pizza along with two Cokes. It was again silence moment it was the time that Jesse couldn't hold it anymore "Ok Paul spill it up!" he said looking at her. "Spill what exactly?" "Come on Paul i know you! I know that something is bothering you! You know how stuborn i can be so tell me know!" Jesse was right. Pauline sighed and answered "This Saturday at 7.00 in the afternoon is the competition for the volleyball team!" Pauline drop the bomb and wait for Jesse's reaction. "Really? That wonderfull Paul! You finaly get what you always wanted!" was Jesse's answered which was not what Pauline was exeprting "You know that your first game in Notre Dame is in the same day and hour?" "Yes, i know! But look Paul if you think that i'll be mad or something like that because you will not come you're so so wrong! This is very important to you! You have no idea how happy that makes me feel. I'll so egoist to yell at you or be mad at you!" Jesse said looking at her. He was right... again. "Thank you! This means the world to me! I was nervous all day at school about this!" Pauline admits "Babe, there's nothing to be nervous about! I'm sure they'll pick you up!" Jesse said sure like there is no doupt about it. The waitress came with their pizza and drinks. They start aetting their pizza and talked about others things.

Jesse understand how much hard will be that to Pauline to teel him. But he wasn't mad at all. He was very happy for his girlfriend. He felt a little bad at first bad he knew there'll be more games in the future and pauline will come and see him. All his family will be with him but the person will like to be thre with him will miss it.

Lunch finished and Jesse payied he had a little fight with pauline because she wanted to pay the bill. The must laeve the pizzeria very fast because Pauline must be in an hour to the court for practise. Arriving at her house Jesse kissed her more than one million times. Her kiss was working like a drug to him. A drug that he never wanted to loose.

Pauline got ready for the trainning and left in hurry her house. Arriving in the court 15 minutes later thankfully the trainning didn't get started yet. So, Pauline had all the time she needed to prepare. All the twelve volleyball players start running around the court like they do in every single trainning.

On Tuesdays that work almost personal. Every girl had her possition in the court. It was Pauline's favourite day because she has almost an hour to practise her sets. In this case she must try harder in order to be ready for the competition on Saturday.

It was the first since her coach told her that she was feeling a little nervous about it. She was the only one from her team. That make her feel even worse. She'll be alone in a competition with even God know how many girls and they all wanted one thing, to win.

Once the trainning was over pauline's coach asked her to talk for a second. At first he told her about something for the team and then he get to the point "Mr Dickens and Mr Wafles called again and told me that the compettion's hour will be instead of 7.00 will be at 3.00 in the afteroon!" Jerry said and smiled. Pauline was more that suprised. She was in cloud nine and she doesn't want to get down on Earth. After a few seconds smiling she turned to be surious again "That's great! I must be there 30 minutes ago?" "Yes, it will last at least for three-four hours! You'll start warming up and all the things and then they'll test your sets with opposite, midlle and front hitters!" "I can't wait!" Pauline answered. "Woow wait there girl this is stage 1! The stage 2 in more painfull..... is about the personality!" Pauline was now start to worry again. She shallowed hard and answered "Oh that's good! I'm not worried!" "Great!" Jerry said and snapped her showlder. "See you tommorow Pauline!" he said and left her alone with her thoughts.

She was so exited that the hour had changed so she'll go to Jesse's first game. She couldn't hide her smile on her lips. When she showered and kissed her teammates goodbye she got in the car. Pulling her sell from the bag and called Jesse when an idea hit her mind.

This is going to be a suprise! No one else will know that exept herslef. She want to see his reaction when he'll see her in the game. She smiled at this thought. She'll try to keep it secret all the week. This Saturday will be very special.
